you all need to remember this is the first of the tournament. There will be bugs that need working out, but whining about it is not going to get very far. It won't change the results or the scores. You stated the problem. hopefully it will be fixed next time. my assumption would be that it was because of the lack of servers and or maybe in that second round there should not have been 2nd server options and just used all the ones left as a backup if one went down as it did.

you also need to realize the server admins are trying to provide stable servers to us for free, you have to realize this may be a free open source game but the servers cost money.

Grats for flex for making it, durka, goody and hoax for winning.
and thanks to all those who provided servers

and to those who played on CT USA did it seam stable? Please PM me if you had problems on that server

wall of text -.-

A good (good = reasonable) team should be able to deal with a server from another continent instead of complaining that they lost. And they shouldn't be afraid to play there. If you are from America and you lose in an European server, you can blame whoever you want, same for Europeans. It's always your own fault. Just do what the brackets tell you and if someone doesn't follow the rules for some egoistic reason, you don't need to follow him. In the worst case you get a bye.

And if you want to make a noob out of yourself, then go on and tell everybody that you can't play with that "rubber advantage". Nobody forces you to play. Go elsewhere if you're unhappy with it.

So it is an argument between mazers and killers?

PS: And I never, ever complained about our loss. Of course I am not overly happy with it either , lol.
And I am also NOT whining about the servers, no, I am unhappy with the decisions of team TPH.

that most EU players suck at US servers isn't our problem
Please, get your conceited head out of your ass for one moment, if your team was american I would have had NO PROBLEM going to that server. The fact that we were all euro and able to play without lag in a server that was perfectly playable (if it wasnt for you then its time for a new computer bb) so why choose a crappy US server? Boohoo, rubber advantage... not my problem that you can't maze without the advantage.

Next time, put in the rules that we play in the bold server when team caps don't agree -- in this case an admin had to decide because the caps obviously didn't agree, epsy told you to go to PRU. So what exactly is the problem? An admin decided.

:star:

(If you think for one moment that it was biased, think again, me and pepsi never got along!)

In the end we were forced to go to an EU server (still won though...)

You wanted high-ping because you thought we would suck there compared to you. I wanted low-ping because I hate misevaluating the lag or getting abrupt spikes. That doesn't mean I a can't play at high pings. I am a pretty good player at swampland for example.
I thought I explained it in the post above. Didn't u have ambition to win, and wasnt that the reason why u fiercly opposed the idea of using an US server, because u play better at an euro one? Me, freako and newbie play better at US servrers, so we prefer to play there.
akira wrote:In fact, even if I often talk grumpy and whatever, my main interest is a fair and enjoyable tournament. That is the reason I dislike such overblown situations.
A fair and enjoyable tournament is achieved partly by obeying the rules. After we said we prefer the US server, you, lizmatic and epsy were spamming the console in capital letters saying its CRAP and GAY.
akira wrote:Please stop hiding behind the "rules".
Oo? Rules are rules, they should be obeyed or u get disorder. After we beat LOLcats, we played against BS, we prefered an US server and they whined but agreed because they saw the importance of rules.

We had a really short argument and summed up it would look like this:
BS: why would we play in an US server?! You are euro's.
PH: we prefer rubber advantage over accuracy
BS: shit but.. ok

Nero, kbblak and sunshine played really at their best and i want to congratz them with their achievement.
A good (good = reasonable) team should be able to deal with a server from another continent instead of complaining that they lost. And they shouldn't be afraid to play there.
Totally agree

btw, the tournament was a great addition to the normal tournies and pretty fun to compete in (except the situation around the LOLcats).

EDIT:

.

1. The US server wasnt crappy, our match vs. Xyfopers had no lag.
2. We dont boohoo about rubber advantage, we just prefer it. And why are you saying we cant maze? Thats a personal opinion and we are supposed not to make things personal.
3. "Conceited head out of your ass" really, you like to get personal dont you. No need to write insults etc. on this forums, its not meant for that.
4. It's clear the admin chose sides ("your being plain gay" "ULL GET DISQUALIFIED" blabla)

There was no problem until Olive made some crying post about it, it wouldn't of been brought up again if he hadn't.

Oh, regarding the server distribution, I have 1/50 Credit to add: In an environment where delays happen, you don't want to swizzle around servers from one round to the next. Half the winning teams should just stay where they are. If everyone has to move servers, each delayed game will directly delay two directly following games: the one the winning team has to play, and the one scheduled to be next on that server. Not to mention that it makes things harder to organize. You can swizzle in later rounds when there's servers to spare to buffer the delays, but if you swizzle after the first round, you're asking for trouble.

(That all in the spirit of 'how can we improve future events' and not 'The orgz suxxxxx!', of course.)
