I have built the servers from source many times now without issue, but i am now running on ubuntu server 32 (9.04) rather than the desktop version, and i thik something might now be installed.
malcolm@jackserver:~$ sudo /home/malcolm/Documents/armagetronad-0.3_alpha8870/configure --prefix=/etc/arma0.3 --enable-dedicated --enable-automakedefaults --disable-syinstall --disable-etc --disable-useradd --disable-initscripts --enable-armathentication --disable-glout
sudo: /home/malcolm/Documents/armagetronad-0.3_alpha8870/configure: command not found
That needs fixing, help?

Fixed it sorry my stupid fault, had lost the data in the configure file at some point woops
