Re: First TRONIC Bowl
Do we need to add any Global ID's for team captains? Didn't we talk about putting those wiki at signup? I don't remember...

Re: First TRONIC Bowl
Well incase some of you havn't noticed this day is quickly comming upon us. I recommend you guys make up your mind on what's gonna happen and do it quick. I would say have the first matches this Sunday. Then Next Sunday hold the semi-finales and/or finals. Whatever.
Concord I think that's just silly. I can see that whole thing just being a complete mess. You need to have a time and say be there or not. The time when you start giveing everyone ways to make their own time, is the time when things start falling apart and not working.we could allow team captains to set up times individually to do the first two rounds. set a deadline for each round.
then the final 8 play on the 7th,
something like
First Round Matches Finished By May 31st
Second Round Matches Finished by June 6th

Sounds good IMO. 18 teams is not that much, but it can make the tourney exhausting for some players.Sinn wrote:Well incase some of you havn't noticed this day is quickly comming upon us. Re: First TRONIC Bowl
I was under the impression we were just doing it Sunday. Its the same commitment as Ladle 21 for all but 2 or 3 teams.
Sinn, that was written about 2 weeks ago, it doesn't apply (it actually references dates that already happened), of course its unrealistic.

Re: First TRONIC Bowl
ok, so the slots for the teams signed up will be decided tonight.
teams may still sign up, but they will be placed in play in games.
Server admins - please check the wiki to add your info.

Re: First TRONIC Bowl
I added the two fortress servers that i have been hosting for the past few ladles today. I also added a 3rd TheServerPharmEU:Fortress Freedom to add another European server. This server is hosted in the UK, has been load tested and pings well for Euros and Americans!

Re: First TRONIC Bowl
Just to put it out there, how will the servers be chosen for each match? Because since im australian I would much rather pefer using an american server to battle in rather than a euro server.
bring back ddl!
Re: First TRONIC Bowl
I'm not entirely sure, but I think they'll be chosen randomly.custang wrote:Just to put it out there, how will the servers be chosen for each match? Because since im australian I would much rather pefer using an american server to battle in rather than a euro server.
(We have enough servers now)

ID has a good fortress server also. I hope there is an equal amount of euro servers and American servers.

Re: First TRONIC Bowl
This question^ is asked a lot by the less ladle experienced people, so I thought why not answer it once so I can quote myself later.
Sinn, because of the way the organization of the ladle/bowl is constructed there is not one person who decides which servers are being used. There's a section on the wikipage (here) where server admins put down their servers. From this list the actual servers we're playing on is semi-randomly picked (I believe the finals are usually played in a 'reputable' server). So if you want to have an ID server in the ladle/bowl you'd have to talk to your own server admin to put it in the list.
Of course there's a couple of responsibilities when giving out a server, like; having a competent server admin who is available during the ladle (basically hang out in the irc channel), giving out temporary admin rights to people outside your clan, running a reasonably new version of the dedicated server, being able to assure it's on a decent connection and using the right settings, etc.

Re: First TRONIC Bowl
Those servers were randomly assigned today for the first round.
The following rounds follow a pattern: Servers considered 'good' based on past Ladles are placed as the priority server. Today this was Z-Mans, Server Pharm, Twisted Rats, and Crazy Tronners. For each quarter or semifinal there is also a alternative server. If the priority is Euro the alternative is American, and visa versa. Two American teams may elect to use the American alternative for example. The Final is in Z-Mans because last ladle we voted to alternate and last ladle was in TR Fort.

Re: First TRONIC Bowl
Sinn, if you need help listing the ID server on the wiki, just ask. I am the person that actually listed VCL's server, and I would happily list your server as well, if your having trouble using the wiki. If you check the Wiki, you will see that there are plenty of American servers. There are 9 listed servers. Only 8 are needed. 4 American and 5 Euro servers. So as you can see balance has been achieved. Durka and I made a point, starting in Ladle 20 to ensure an equal number of American servers are listed. This is why, starting in Ladle 20 I made sure to list 2 servers of mine, Durka listed his server, and I made sure to list VCL Rajiin's server. In a 16 team lineup, 8 servers are needed. So that yields 4 servers. Also, starting in Ladle 21, it was agreed by the community to rotate the server that the finals are played in. Since Durka's TR Fortress is the one that is the most used American Fortress Server, his was chosen to be the American Server, and Z-man's was chosen as the European one.
So, as you can see, fairness in server choices has been achieved.
