I was in durka durka land and noticed that the /players output has changed
Problem is that the names with strange characters are displayed unfiltered making it impossible to send that player a PM
The old /players listed filtered names, I hope this is just a bad config in DDL and not a bug
/players
Re: /players
Related: /teams
I've noticed how /teams lists the team you are on before the other team, which usually requires you to scroll up in the console quite a few lines. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Or does it just print out 'team 1', 'team 2', 'etc...' and I'm always on team one for some reason?
I don't really know what I'm talking about here.

Re: /players
I'm unaware of any change, but you still can PM players via the filtered name.

Re: /players
i think Paradox means that it now displays coloured names instead of the filtered name and Paradox is not sure how to replace symbols in order to get the correct name.
A simple change could fix that. where we have the () or for logged in ( kyle@ct, owner) just add the filtered name in there for players that are not authenticated. I think that is a 1 line change.

Yes, but won't that be just pointless 99% of the time?kyle wrote:A simple change could fix that. where we have the () or for logged in ( kyle@ct, owner) just add the filtered name in there for players that are not authenticated. I think that is a 1 line change.
i.e.:
ct|kyle (kyle@ct, owner) (ct|kyle)
Durka pwns kyle (DDMJ@forums, remote user) (Durka_pwns_kyle)
Re: /players
If you use 0.3, use tab completion. If you use 0.2.8, use a unique substring of the name you can type (Foo ø → /msg Foo yo), or do the trivial letter replacements yourself with this technique (« clan » Föø → /msg foo hi). You are not required to enter the full username to message, only a substring.
I don't think crowding /players with more information is a solution.

aka only if you are not authenticated then display the filtered name, else display authenticated name

Re: /players
I can't remember exactly why, but I know it wont work out.
Solutions:
1/ don't have crazy-stupid-looking nicks
2/ don't talk to people who have crazy-stupid-looking nicks
2/ guess it
