It's possible the overlay stuff is to blame. Maybe they don't unregister the hooks properly. What about other arma versions?

It appears to work fine in 0.2.8_alpha20090113.

Crashes .2.8.1 and .3.0 as well. To recreate the bug(?) all i do is open arma, open mumble , close mumble, and crash.

Does disabling the overlay help? What's your graphics card? (/me does not keep a database of the setup of the regulars, sorry)

Disabling overlay in mumbles advanced settings seems to have fixed the problem.

2020: yeah, the server vanished from the list for some reason. Just directly connect to it.

saibot: The downloads are on SourceForge. The mirror system has occasional hickups. Pick a different mirror or start the download process all over again, not just by clicking the back button once.

No, not the whole thing :) That only works as a command line argument. Just enter simamo.de as a new server's address.

this is what the mumble app tells me:
[01:00] Connected to server simamo.de.
[01:01] Server connection failed: The remote host closed the connection.
i don't have access to anything from the menu bar...
and certainly no sound

tried to talk to rad and corn
who succeeded in getting through to the server
perhaps because they have pc's

what am i missing here?

Dunno. The logs say someone timed out a lot, presumably that was you. I relaxed the firewall settings now. With our Mac, I can connect fine.

Hmm. I didn't read the whole thing, but if the the purpose of talking over the internet is to help out the new players, couldn't you just make an audio file(s) explaining the game to them?
