Upgrading to phpBB3

What do you want to see here? Some more categories, forums, and mods? Hmm...

Well, it certainly looks slightly larger than, eg, http://luke.dashjr.org/tmp/text.html , to me...

The text is too large for me, and it isn't a browser problem. The text was also big in Firefox and Opera.

Made some more changes. Fiddled with the odd font size, changed the header more, fixed that stupid double border before every post in a topic, and changed the pm view.

Also, unlimited pms now. I was never quit sure why it was stuck at 50 before.

So lazy bums like me are forced to clean them up every now and then?

MilesPrower reported on IRC that the forum Armathority is broken for new users. The md5 hash update code probably got squished.

It seems like that fix to borders has created some more border issues Tank. On the 'View new posts' page, there appears to be a border missing between some results. The index has the same problem between the top 'forum/board' and the category name.

I like the new Friend Finder option. And the User Control Panel. Very interesting.

I think the font colour selector may turn annoying in a hurry though.

I like the friends and foes thing, now we need buttons on every post to add friend/foe for the poster. ;)

Could you post a screen shot(s) pointing these things out?

Yes, authentication is currently a bit wonky. Still using the old database for that.

I have a problem with unread posts not clearing.
I probably read about half of the topics here and probably only about half of the posts therein. Come to think of it, those posts I do read only about 50% of them hold my attention for more than half of the time.

On the old forums if I choose to ignore some new posts, the next time I log in they are cleared. This is no longer the case. My new posts page is filling up fast with posts I never plan on reading. Even if I do click on these posts just to clear them out of my new posts page I still have a load of red bikes on the index page alerting me to really old posts I haven't read.

Maybe this is a phpbb3 thing, but I can't find a way to clear them.

Yeah, old posts seem to stick around on the new posts page longer than before. I actually like that. Unread posts are still marked with that yellow triangle thing. And failing that, you can go from top to bottom and stop at the first topic you remember wanting to ignore.

That's the button I was looking for. Thanks.
Now I can get back to ignoring the forums.

Could we have the post body text larger than all the other text around it instead of the other way around?

edit: Maybe font-sizing should be done like wikipedia does it.. there's two links in the monobook.css stylesheet, I don't have the time now to actually read them, but they might be worthwhile:
