Heh pink, could be a part of the project, I didn't think of lending servers, but it's necessary indeed, I often have people asking if they could borrow our server one day / one hour.

Don't worry, I do plan to :D. It's rather small at the moment, needs a lot of work, and I am wondering what the best way to do it is :?.

I think we'll have some mysql tables for the website.
maybe should we start discussing all this on a temporary forum (if needed I can host it)

I guess the correct link is this ?

https://code.launchpad.net/~www-armaget ... onad-match

You might want to take a look at:
http://www.phpbbrivals.com/?page=download

or similiar projects which already provide algorithms for tournament management. there are also quite some alternatives out there, but as far as I could tell, nothing else is maintained. I haven't found a single page that uses the tournament phpbb mod though.

psst, just so we don't get two strands going: http://forums.armagetronad.net/viewtopic.php?t=19129

but this thread seems to have branched to Pink's server.

Ah, I created it as project the other day, so the other link does not work now :).

lagtest.net uses the phpbb mod. I think they have had trouble with it :(.

@pinktomato: that sounds like an execellent source of information then... try to find out what their problems and success has been with that mod. I think it will prove to be good adwise for design decisions.
