Armagetron @ LAN
Went to a LAN last weekend, finally got a hold of some of the photos that were taken. Why's this interesting? I got a few people to play Armagetron there, including one guy with his 28 inch monitor. It's just plain scary at that size.

/me is lucky. My wife's computer has a 24" monitor, not just an integrated motherboard video card. I run the .3 client using meriton's camera and custom settings.
It's a neccesity on the big monitor to have custom settings!

Armagetron: It's a video game that people should just play and enjoy

Last night I went to my friend's place because he wanted to show me Arma on his 32" Samsung TV. Playing in my cockpit server was scary! It's almost like you're in the cycle. Next best thing to VR goggles I guess? Normally I play on an old 15" laptop with a bad viewing angle, so this was pretty jarring.Tank Program wrote:...including one guy with his 28 inch monitor. In Tank's photo I can't help but notice all the terrible junk food strewn about, sodas, and what are presumably caffeine drinks.

It's a LAN party. Don't pretend to be surprised.

A) I've never been to a LAN party, and am not much familiar with the culture. (I only have a few friends/acquaintances in real life who even play video games, and we rarely do it together.)
B) It wasn't a statement of surprise, more like disgust and pity.

So, I was about to make a comment about someone porting Arma to the Virtual Boy. But then....sinewav wrote:Next best thing to VR goggles I guess?
