Change the Ladle starting time?

Post by freako »

I think the topic name is pretty clear....

So why should early up the ladle a bit?

This ladle has alot of new teams, those new teams never played a ladle before.
This could cause more problems with changing servers, playing matches, etc...
To avoid time-problems, we could early it up about 15 minutes?

If you voted against, please post some motivations with it :)

I vote yes! My motivations are clear already

As chronically sleepless admin, I vote yes. I'd also vote yes on a one hour move.

I vote no. 1:45 for me is a stretch as it is.

I'm not an admin, but more or less chronically sleepless, so I vote yes and would also prefer an earlier starting time.

i voted no, because, well..... the sooner it starts the greater the chances i'll be late. I have some RL things to do, and i'm not sure when i'll be done

Again we come to the point, were we cannot change a thing :/
Shall I just add a line to the page, that teams are adviced to start a bit early? but that the teams are not forced to do so?
(althought I don't think that will work, so maybe it's a better idea for next ladles.... Hoorah self organising!...)

I think after this Ladle we should set down all of the rules.

yeah and make sure it's written in stone so it's clear

Maybe not have the matches start earlier but ask everyone to show up that earlier?

How about the Admins forcing the start of match regardless of whether teams got their full team or not.
I'm sure teams would start organizing teams before the start time if that was the case.

And yes RULES. We need some rules written in cyber stone!

PS:
As for starting the tourny, i don't like the idea of things getting changed last minute but i'm ok for 15 mins but not 1 hour. Its hard enuff for me to try to get up at 1:30pm EST...

Heck, that's what the guidelines page is meant to do.

let's not go down the path of writing anything in stone
guys
we are not cavemen
nor prophets from god...

last minute changes are not good

that we all know what is going on
where we collect and when
is our individual responsibility

since i am crap at that kind of thing
i rely on my captain to get it right
and i go where he tells me

i second the idea of keeping to the time
that is
for server admins to start exactly on time

if this has any possibility of scaling up
it depends exactly on one thing
timing
and really
that's what it is all about on the grid
i know
since i get it so wrong so often :)
hold the line

Heck, the guidelines are not same as the rules. The rules are enforced guidelines are not like i've said already in page 3 of Ladle 18 thread.
