a bit late, i know. Just wondering if there are any openings left for a long time fortress player (3 years not that much compared to some other guys i guess). any team will do. I am mainly an attacker. I have never played in any competitions, looking forward to give this a try!

I'm aware that nw nightwalkerclan.freeforums.org/ needs people for the ladle. I've also heard that fast fruits, manic tentacles, and mister might need more. So get in contact with one of them to join.

Theoretically, the final should be played in Flex's or gene's server. Being in London and Connecticut they should provide for lowest average ping.

I haven't heard any strong reasoning or opposition to having 4 seeds. I'll put them on the challenge board, preliminarily.

@concord the server thing make sense. So maybe server 1 is automatically comp's or gene's and so is 1a.
Wednesday night everything else will be chosen randomly (except seeds and tr gets a bye, and final servers.)

Well, the question is: should those 4 teams be seeded so they can meet in semis or in quarterfinals? Right now they can meet in semis, which may not be good for the tourney tbh.

the notion of seeds only works in terms of centralised organisation
having an authority on who deserves it
unless we suggest something like previous winners and placement
which then means authentication
and problems when players from previous teams join in new teams
etc

What I meant was: it's good that those 4 teams won't meet in first round, but I'm not sure it's good that those teams can't meet before semis.

I suggest to do it this way: attach every team to a number from 1 to 16. Numbers 1,2,3 and 4 are seeded (TR, CT, X, SP) so you have to mix all numbers randomly until those four won't play each other in first round.

Example:
(mixing...)
1,6, 8,11, 2+4... stop. Try again.
(mixing...)
1,15, 4,11, 5,3, 14,8, 2,13, ...blah blah blah - good, those will be final brackets.

That's how I see it.
