ok then not. xD, but there are more than sticky, i know at least 9 who do it whenever they like and 5 who just do it when nobody sees them ;)

Well, if you are getting base-camped, there is a flaw in your strategy. And I can't think of a single bug that is exploited in CTF. Plus, there is an easy solution to base-camping (outlined in an essay I wrote). You can change either the length of the cycle trail or the size of the base to make encircling it impossible.

Word, you are not the first to be annoyed at these activities in CTF. Just focus on being the best player and you'll forget about these things in time.

i don't talk about clan strategies here, that's epsy xD, i mean the problem when there are players in our server and no admin is there. if there's a bunch of really big noobs (in the most negative sense), no one there who can help them a bit and someone creates a bad atmosphere (lol yes they said that about me2 when i was a noob) the server is empty after a short while. i watched it sometimes as spectator ( :P ) . and your essay is great, i read it already some moths ago. :)
To change the size of the base is the first good idea that helped me here :D (but i still like the idea of "freezing" because it's funny xD)

Wrong. I've seen it once or twice. I can't reproduce it myself. So please, any info is welcome.

Just because newbies can easily learn holing does not change the fact that holing is a perfectly valid strategy. The real problem is that other newbies can't figure out how to defend against holing, and complain when someone pwns them.

Holing, basecamping, yadayada.

If you're in the last round of the match, and you buy into the idea that if the other team basecamps and you're the last one alive, and your team is losing, and that you've already lost, then just suicide to start the next match.

If you're not in the last round of the match, get as many core dumps as possible before the other team grabs the flag, then suicide so your whole team will respawn, as well as the basecamper. Never forget that the base isn't the only way to respawn your team. (I've had quite a few opponents bitch at me because they were salivating over the flag, and I denied them the run with a suicide)

As for holes, get over it. :)

it is a valid strategy...in noob servers. but good players should have stopped using it. it's not just niewbies who don't know how to defend like that, but simply because it's impossible to def while they bomb your wall away. That they get pwned is the thing that can happen afterwards, but that's not the problem

lol and then suicide and start the next match, and again, suicide, start the next match, suicide, start the next match, suicide....

I don't care if the team is going to lose less points, the more important thing is the position on the ladder, you know that the player who wants to get a higher position can make as many points (with core dumping )as possible, but it isn't important when you and your team is dead in the end . You lose your position you were so proud of :P
Basecampers are often too stupid to respawn their own team xD, sometimes they camp even at their own teams base, and once i saw one of them who did it while we had respawn_time 0.1...rofl

i folllow sine and try to make the zones a bit bigger

Umm, I probably didn't make this clear in my last post here:
I still don't know how to reproduce the invincibility bug. So please, someone, enlighten me. I can't fix what I cannot see.

On the topic of this specific holing, the holer has to leave through the hole again, right? If it disturbs you so much, why not make it so that if you drive through a hole in an enemy wall with the flag, it gets returned? That should be an easy change to make, just look for where the hole score gets applied. To me, game rule changes > admin commands, game rules also work when no admin is present :)

edit: lol problem, i don't meet him at the moment, but i hope i have it this weekend. then i can capture it (CamStudio is good tool for screen captures, you can download it here: http://camstudio.org/ )

that's a good idea, idk why didn't think about it early. if the score_flag (or whatever it's called) is set to 4, i just set the score_hole to -4 and the problem should be solved.

i don't want to make the holing strategy impossible, i just want an additional command which offers an option to turn it off for ctf, but not the holes in general.
