Actually, it's not. That is a faulty way of looking at stuff; where something free is "expected" to be poorly crafted and unreliable. Do you apply the same reasoning to "free" open-source software? I should hope not, especially when considering Armagerton.nsh22 wrote:hey, its alright i guess, its free aint it?
Please excuse me while I get wildly off-topic.
There are plenty of "free" things who's quality exceeds something purchased; too many to list in fact. But, since I mentioned Armagetron let's compare that to Buena Vista's "Tron 2.0". (I'm sure some of you are familiar with it that one)

ArmagertonAd:
- Created in 2000
Simple, highly expressive gameplay
High ceiling of mastery
Easy format for creating playing environments
Stable version works on most systems
Still played online, and developed today
Price: Free
- Created in 2003
Generic first person shooter with overly complex rules
Boring, and not worth a second play
Buggy, time consuming level editor so you can make levels no one will play
Crashes on every system that doesn't strictly meet the recommendations
Had small online following for a brief time, development ended after 1st patch
Price: Depends on if you had to buy a new computer to play it.
Ok, I'm done. Sorry about that. Back to topic.
