fps limit?

Post by Kerri »

Hello :)

first, excuse my english wich is not very good

then: I've got a problem with armaggetron advance: I've got a recent computer (operon 170, geforce 7600gt,...) running under 2 differents OS: MS windows vista and Fedora linux.

I want to see if the better nvidia drivers make a difference between the 2 os.

Under fedora I've got always at least 80 fps (in 1280*1024, graphic high)
but under vista, the fps are limited (they're always between 58 and 60 fps, never more than 60), so I think that there is a limit, how can I remove it to see the max fps?

I'm using armagetron 0.2.8.2, and i have install the last nvidia' drivers

thanks :)

The FPS limitation is a driver setting; what you need to do is disable "VSync" in your driver settings. Under XP, that is accessible in the NVidia control panel. I assume that's where it is in Vista as well.

Also, you should know that you will get poorer performance under Vista than you could under XP. ArmategronAd uses OpenGL to do the 3D drawing, and in Vista there is not OpenGL implementation, rather a mapping toward DirectX (if I recall correctly).

Look in the game settings and change the "wait for vsynch" option.
