having problems with 0.3.0 for mac

First off, I'd like to say that i think all the new stuff is pretty neat. butttttttt, i can't get it to work. i hear no sound what so ever in the 0.3.0, nor can i get myself into the sound settings menu option. it just won't open up. and i looked at what some other people had problems with, and couldn't find anything in the "global config" that would help me out at all, or anywhere i looked for that matter.

In 0.3.0, on the mac, sound is disabled. Sorry for the inconvenience.

ahh. alrighty then.
another quick question. would there be a way to enable it myself, to put in my own music/sounds or whatever? or is it just locked out until the next go around.

It's locked out until I get the new sound engine in place (which requires actually writing it). The problem is in sdl_mixer's use of some external library. So, the new sound engine is slated to use different external libraries for all its loading (and optionally just let it use whatever sdl supports, or disable sdl completely, etc), so it should work fine, and of course the goal is to have sound in mac os x as well as everywhere else.

So in short, no, there isn't any way to enable it, and you don't want to anyway. If you need sound badly enough, you should go back to the stable branch, or use a different OS.

(but no OS has a cycle sound in 0.3.0, which is what most people miss anyway)
