the pc that has linux installed on it was from a floppy
ftp://ftp.planetmirror.com/pub/damnsmal ... floppy.img
and i think the boot cd was from
ftp://ftp.planetmirror.com/pub/damnsmal ... sl-3.4.iso
I have a desktop just without the icons. I can still do the right click on my desk top to pull up a start menu, however terminal is not in there either.
edit:I just found out that I am indeed using fluxbox

Blame dsl for that, I think it uses uclibc instead of glibc. Install glibc from debian repositories

There's a script you run that restores dpackage and apt-get to the debian system that dsl is based on. Check the dsl site for that. Then you just use apt-get to get glibc.

I would have a long time ago but their wiki seems to be lacking the stuff that I need, and the forums won't let me post until I am personally reveiwed by the forum admin, which seems to be a very relaxed process.Lucifer wrote:Check the dsl site for that.
If no one knows what to do from here is there a way to reformat my hard drives and get a differnt distro.
