Open dev position?

What do you want to see in Armagetron soon? Any new feature ideas? Let's ponder these ground breaking ideas...

Open dev position?

Post by CharlieH »

hi, i've been goofing around with the tron code a bit lately and have decided to start trying to fix and/or add things. i got 0.2.6 and 0.2.7 to compile on amd64 (same bugs) for dev, and since then i've been wanting to do some other things with it. i'd like to be able to access cvs and speak with the devs so that you or i don't waste time fixing the same bugs. i plan to make the graphics much nicer and more configurable also.

edit: using gentoo linux, kernel 2.6.8, gcc 3.3 and 3.4 (if you need to know)

I think we're always open to developers. Klax is our current project admin, so talk to him.

First of all, welcomed!

Yep, we are always opened to new devels. The more the better ;)

CharlieH: All you need is a sourceforge account (go there to create one if you haven't). Post it here or send me a private message ;)
It will be nice if you commit those changes for amd64 or changes for gcc34 hehe.
You can work in whichever thing you want to improve armagetronad

Now you have read access to cvs (anonymous). When you give me the sf account you will have write access.

charlieH, from my own experience

- when you get cvs to aa, if you want to retreive it, do it to a new folder. Re-using an old one is a pain in the buttox, make lots of conflict with cvs right and all.
- Once done, diff your code to it, and patch the aa code accordingly.

once commited, flush your own code. Trust me, it will only give you more probs.

theres a link to download it at the smegtron forum

http://smeg.mine.nu/forums/

in the future versions he & I are going to bring several choosable bike models into the game (or at least have downloadable bike models)

so's.. if any programmers want to help with said front-end to choose bikes, we could probably stand your help..

i am photoshop & 3dmax certified & currently working on some low-poly bikes to bring in.. first & foremost a bike that looks more like the ones in the first movie, a cop verson of that, a recognizer, hmm.. a tank!?, and mebbe some novelty bikes

hope this isnt stepping on anyones toes.. let me know if it is..
