film script
hehehe
well...
i have written stuff before
and it isn't very good probably
since it hasn't been published
(maybe i should actually take stuff to a publisher : )
however...
i have come up with some rather interesting ideas...
so
if you have liked the tronic progression idea
apart from the fact you don't think it is ultimately practical...
how about playing around with some ideas that can end up entirely virtual
as a film?
so
if you have any pretentions of writing
or dealing with concepts
perhaps advertising and marketing
if you have any artistic bone in your body
if this piques your interest
say so
since i like the idea of developing some ideas and scripts
wrt
a film
about tron
tron players
and the world at large...

You're ideas keep amaze me 2020
I'm not too familiar with DIY films, but I have the feeling that unless you have alot of know-how and (probably) alot of expensive stuff, it's very hard to make something visually that doesn't distract from the story.
Maybe, like the TRONIC, start with something a bit more in reach. Maybe a graphic novel? Who knows, it might end up like Sin City or 300.

unless someone is a graphic designer
cartoonist
or whatever...
i think the best shot
is to write a film script
i have a good concept...
it may even be great
and i certainly don't want to do a diy film-thing
there's nothing wrong thinking it could reach the big-screen
don't stop yourself thinking big things
whether they get big is not up to you or me...
if the concept is good enough
and the right people hear it...

actually, this could be a pretty good idea to show how addicting games are nowadays. It would show how it effects different ages, races and social classes. But most importantly it can bring Armagetron Advanced own in the open to show how great a game it is and it could have a lot of new players that could become great assets to the game and its evolution.

here's steven lisberger:
SL: The problem that I always have with that mix is that in some of the major studios, the attitude is that when you put enough people in a room and you get them working on something, and the one that’s left standing at the end – you go with him. And it’s sort of a “survival of the fittest” business acumen. My feeling is that too often they apply that in the creative realm. It’s like, “Ten people have a creative direction on this. You ten people go at it. And the one that wins – we’ll use his idea.” I find that the problem with that is that very often, the person who has the best creative idea is not that good at politicking, is not good at making the right friends, is not good at the phone calls, is not good at the connections. So if you base it on that other formula, you end up with bad studio movies. That’s a specific that I’ve seen come out of the mixture of business and art.
SL: So the thing is, they [film companies] really don’t feel as comfortable on the creative footing as they do on the business footing. So they want to, even if it’s subconscious, keep it on a business footing. So by constantly changing people, and never really becoming friends, they never get past the superficial ego trip. And that’s where they want it to stay! That’s what they’re good at – playing that kind of poker game. But once everybody really gets to know everybody, it really has to be about creativity. You have to be comfortable enough as the guy running the studio to say, “Wow! This guy came up with a much better idea than mine, and he’s getting much less pay around here than I am.”

film idea yes yes yes
2020 i like it,,,i like the way you think,,you are 100% right ,,bout 4 years ago i messed around with some animation programmes,,,i dident have a big budget,,,well no budget at all really,, it was great fun and showed me how easy it really is to take an idea in one,s head and make it happen,,, without involving companies or office types who at the end of the day have no real enthusiasm for the project apart from the dollar signs in their eyes,,.From a story ,,or script point of veiw,,its all about how you want to portray the AA comunity,,or was u thinking of creating a script with a story that involves the AA community,,,,as you can see ,,,this can go anyway,,,imagination is endless,,,,iwould love to know more about what ideas you have in mind,,,i have some expieriance in writing and storyboarding ,,,i will watch this thread with interest,,,,you can e mail me at tony_sales_@hotmail.com Rad ,,,,btw,,my e mail has underscores tony_sales_
