A good one i use a lot is if i see someone grind a wall ill go in between thier wall and the grind, you come flying out in between two people who never saw it comin and usually end up as easy kills

Thanks for the pic root. It helped my wee brain understand.

When I try that on skilled players they know what I'm up to and bugger out. And plus, I have a hard time with decent grinds and often die doing it.

You know, my windows pos only lets me do so much with grinding. Despite any of the tricks, I only do so much. 20 fps is 20 fps. I have played on a faster machine, and was impressed at how much better I could do. So what I'm left with knowing the other player, and anticipating what he'll do. I'm usually more cautious around someone I've never seen before (even though they might be a noob) than someone who I know is a superior player to me, but who I *know*. I can get my share of kills by guessification most of the time. Some players can't resist trying particular things, so I make sure to set up those scenarios and then change it on them once they're committed.

Well, that's what I *try*. ;)

Actually, a fairly effective counter is the one I mentioned about beating the grind. Take it through to step 3, then jump back onto your trail and head out away from your opponent. When he goes to close the box, he'll hit your trail and kablooie.

I know it works because I get root on it whenever he tries this trick on me. :) So he's fishing for new tricks, and so am I.

here's one I've been trying lately ... in the same vein as rootdown's.

Granted there are easy ways for blue to get out of it, but very ofter the other person misjudges the speed you will gain by slingshotting

surely this only works on noobs and not good players?
A good player would have sealed and not gone straight at the end ?

It's a simplified illistration. Give me any drawing and I'll point out a way for someone to escape ...

My explanation can vary a bunch because as you've said, unpredictability is key. If you get out once, eventually you won't. Eventually even good players will misjudge by a hair.

This is true. Unpredictable players are the best IMHO, so dont always do the same thing, keep it fresh. AS fo a little trick i used to pla long time ago is the "come in as Player 1" and "go reall slow doing noobish things" and when someone comes for you "boom" they are dead .... :)
