But I don't know anything about them. What's your opinion on this setup?
OS: 10.3.9
RAM: 256
Processor: 1.25 PowerPC/G4
Take it or pass?

Should be a respectable machine if you don't demand too much.
Mac OS X tends to need 512 MB to run smoothly. It can run with much less, but if you're doing anything half-serious it'll thrash a lot.Swampy wrote:RAM: 256
Any real arguments? BTW, you can install another.-ct-kyle wrote:the OS is kind of bad

I'll keep you in mind!Lucifer wrote:That's an easy question.. Take every free piece of electronics that comes your way. If you don't find a use for it in a few months and it's taking up room, send it to me.
Here's the deal -
The Co. I work for bought 5 of them 2 years ago to attach to some LCD
screens at a show they were are part of. They were used one day and have sat on my shelfs ever since. At this point if I asked for one I'd get it. I took a look to see if I could put more RAM in it and it looks like a pain in the ass. It involves the use of a putty knife and patience
I'll take another crack at it in the morning and If I can get more ram in it - it'll come home.
I brought this home last week (the system on the left)-
(All in one system with the guts of the PC behind the screen, PIII 833/512mb)
I fought for a good 20 minutes to get Linux running on it and then I threw the white flag. That's about as much time as I give things these days - I guess it's a sign of getting old or something.
It's happily running Windows 2000 for now - but eventually I'll give Unbuntu another shot.
