Return of Bebop in Harlem, Shrunkland, and more low rubber

Post by compguygene »

Beebop in Harlem and Shrunkland are back! But, this time they are hosted on a server in Virginia that is going to be pretty much hosting only low rubber servers, and of course tournament servers, as needed. Hopefully, sine.wav's next Low Rubber Review will have a lot more good things to say.

Just make sure they stay up. Can't review it if it's missing.

Highlighting part of the reason why everyone thinks you are so srs and grumpy even though you crack jokes constantly, haha. Over the heads of most.

Finally got around to finding a moment to throw these together. A visual aid to remembering....

While playing in Bebop in Harlem i found there are some missing spaces among words on the messages sent by server: "you arenot on the ladder" and more...

Great to have Bebop online.

***edited to correct the misspelling in server name.

Those are mistakes in the language files that came with the game. When I get around to fixing them, I will share the updates with the community.

I guess the strong hints in pictures just weren't enough to get me to notice the obvious misspelling. Fixed.

Thanks.

Couple problems, same for both servers:

1) You now have the authentication process set so that logging in takes 3 rounds, rather than getting immediate responses as it always has previously.

2) When I enter the server, it says that my team has been renamed to [player_1 <name>]—and it's colored green. Once I logged in, it said that my team was renamed to Phytotron@forums (still in green). What? This, despite having my GID set to hidden, also shows in the scoreboard. What's going on here? I don't want any of this.

Also, could you please you drop me a PM with instructions on using Filezilla to access the servers.

Thanks for letting me know, all can be easily fixed. I will drop you the pm after I fix those two things just in case anything changes.

Sorry comp but I'm working on fixing the 2nd problem. You'll see in the latest update in launchpad of the branch.

In the code I didn't realise this but the code loads the name from the player's username. Since we're logging in, our username is treated as a teamname and that's what's causing the slight mishap with team name setting.

So simple and easy. I'll be committing it soon. I just gotta add another small command. Quite usefull if you want people to roam outside the arena :P

Also, if people find more language messages cut outs, please inform me.

Thanks for the update. I figured it was something with the sty+ct+ap branch. As I was setting up server binaries for all of my servers, I accidentally setup sty+ct+ap for these. Actually, since these servers will never take advantage of this branch, phyto and I had agreed it would be wisest to use the latest base .2.9 official alpha. However, I will be running sty+ct+ap on some other servers, so testing will continue.

Update released and with this the branch of sty+ct+ap reach 850. We're getting there... stability, here we come! :D

That's fine by me. I'm making the ap system as best as I could and increasing the amount of things you could do in it. Which reminds me, I am yet to fix the SPAWN_EXPLOSION code. Right now using it will simply cause the server to crash. Only noticed it last night when I was coding ... whoops, that's top secret between me and comp :P
