I hope we can avoid misunderstandings like the last one, so if you know somebody wants to play with us, please post here or tell me ingame/via ICQ, email, whatever.

The next thing is the voting about certain "rules", speaking of this thread

You can simply post your vote (to get a team vote when all of us have stated their opinion) here or (if you dont want to make it public) pm me with the rules you prefer, I'll post our decision then in the other thread. Try to keep the discussion at the other one, else it could get messy. Anyway, here's my vote:

* team_max_players - 6v6

I did not play the last ladle, but I enjoyed playing 6 vs 6 during the AFL, especially since my internet connection is not that good. Also, I think there are just too much players on the grid playing 8 vs 8 (3 def usually, and you cant attack with 5 people).


* score_hole - no (0 points)

No points, entering the zone should be reward enough.


* 2v2 - unconquerable

It may be true that offense is harder than defense (although I would not say that in general), but for me it simply seems wrong when 1 vs 1 is not conquerable and then 2 vs 2 is conquerable.


* scoring distribution - score_win 6, fortress_conquered_score 4

I got used to it and I like it, defense is the game breaker, so give the attackers more points for the zone.


* brackets - random teams

Fair for everybody, no endless discussions about who is seeded


* servers - balance of Euro/American

Balance seems fair to me


* finals - always Z-Man's

As far as I can remember, z-mans was used for the finals in nearly every ladle, so why change that?


* server names - coordinated

Nemo made a subculture I think, but not everybody knows what that is or where to get it, so this seems like a good idea.


* team signups - list players

Are we playing this ladle? I should probably be able to make it.
In case we are, here are my votes

* team_max_players - 6v6
Greater chance of us actually putting a team together

* score_hole - yes
I like the concept. Not that it changes much, but i like it.

* 2v2 - unconquerable
but i don't any strong feeling about it

* scoring distribution - score_win 6, fortress_conquered_score 4
It makes things more even when both zones are conquered simultaneously

* brackets - random teams
simplest

* servers
dunno, don't care

* finals - always Z-Man's
yes

* server names - coordinated
yes, it's also a good idea to explain to people how to use the subculture thingy

* team signups - list players
yes

Someone please direct me to a place for learning about this. I haven't figured it out yet.

But I guess I don't understand how I'm supposed to find a Ladle subculture if the address isn't posted anywhere (or maybe I missed it).

  • team_max_players - 6v6
    I didn't play in the last ladle that had 6v6, but I'll try it out. Yes to 6v6.
  • score_hole - no
    No to this. I rememeber some close matches in Ladle 19 that wouldn't have happended if score_hole was on, where the other team needed only a few points to win, but couldn't get a core dump.
  • 2v2 - unconquerable/conquerable ??
    I really don't know if this is currently on or off. I say keep whatever it is now.

    Yes, random teams.

    I didn't play in Ladle 20, so I don't know how it went. I don't care either way.

    Always has been, and z-man is a good moderator during matches.
  • server names - coordinated
    Yes, and the subculture helps too.
  • team signups - list players
    Yes. A team is more likely to show up if the list their players.

Yet again, I doubt I can play. Anyway here's my vote.

* team_max_players - 8vs8. I'd prefer to keep big(ger) games.
* score_hole - No points.
* 2v2 - Unconquerable. Same reasons as Luzi, seems fair to me having 1vs1 the same as 2vs2, and I like messy zones.
* scoring distribution - 6/4.
* brackets - Random teams, no seeding.
* servers - Balance euro/american.
* finals - Rotate between Z-Man's and a US server (hopefully a good one). I think there should be equality on this.
* server names - Coordinated. It's good not to have 7876543 different standards.
* team signups - Play with the names listed on the signup page.

Sure. So far we have hopefully 6 (with you) if max can make it. One or two others would be good, but I'll sign us up tomorrow.
