Nazi's could be considered a race based on the common definition that people use to describe race. Scientifically though, humans are all one race. Nazis could easily fit under the first definition I show as a race.

Here's some definitions of race for you:

a group of people sharing the same culture, history, language, etc.; an ethnic group.

each of the major divisions of humankind, having distinct physical characteristics.

the fact or condition of belonging to a racial division or group; the qualities or characteristics associated with this.

a group or set of people or things with a common feature or features.

This is clear prejudice. You should be more accepting of people and their beliefs if you intend for this community to do any growing.
I'm just floored. You do read what you write before posting, right?
I think the problem is that you don't understand what he is saying, or rather can't comprehend it due to your bias. There could easily be people in the tron community that follow Nazism. You don't know everyone's views. And you are clearly being prejudiced towards Nazi's.

In addition to being prejudice in this topic you have also shown yourself to be stereotypical with this quote, "You're obviously an American, and you just don't see it from other people's poing of view.".

If we're going to be all scientific and use definitions, then I'd like to point out that Nazis don't exist anymore.

If you're talking about neo-Nazis, then you'll see that they don't fit any of the definitions of race you just posted. Please get your facts straight before trying to be a smart ass.

No, colloquially speaking, you could say Nazis are race, Christians are race, but in this sentence "race" is just a colloquial term for "group of people sharing similar beliefs". Neither of these groups aren't considered a "race" simply because they are not. They are group of people following similar beliefs and it's not enough to consider them a separate race from any of sociological point of view. Don't mix up figure of speech with actual knowledge and please, do not reinforce Durf in a feeling that he's right. You're creating a monster that will flood this forum with another wave of complete, utter bullshit...
I really hope he's in fact 13 and has no idea what he's actually typing because if he's actually and adult it would be hugely depressing such individual would function in modern society.
But if you want to argue that point, show me a single scientific, respectable article where some authority categorize nazis as a sperate race. You won't do it, you know why? Because it's simply bullshit.
Durf wrote:You comparing Nazism to Liberalism is ignorant. (see here) Not to mention, irrelevant to what was being discussed.
See? Comparing two political views is IGNORANT to him...
Durf wrote:Whether you like it or not, that is basically what defines a race of people. Consider how insulting it would be for a people of one race to be frivolously grouped in with another race... One example is the belief that Canadians are just Americans, when it is clear that Canadians DO NOT want to be associated with American culture in ANY WAY. And there are plenty of Americans that pose as Canadians when travelling internationally (gee I wonder why >_>).
HOLY SHIT, AMERICAN (citizen of the US) nor CANADIAN is a race what the hell...

Since you like wikipedia so much, here is the page defining sociological definition of race:
http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_%28sociology%29

So please, people. This person is deluded to the point it's sick. Don't try to push him further into his madness, but rather try to stop him. He literally needs psychological help, not you reinforcing him in fake feeling of being right. And I'm not even joking. You are actually hurting him by doing so.

Regardless of time the nazi's would be able to be classified as race based on the first definition.

The scientific definition was used to show that words can have different meanings or multiple meanings. Nazi isn't neccesarily limited to meaning the Nazis of Nazi Germany. It can also be used to refer to those with the same ideology which includes neo-nazi's. Similar ideology could also fit under the "A group of people sharing the same culture...etc." definition.

@Forc3
nooooooooooooooooooooooo
You are utterly wrong. You are ignoring significant part of the definition, take one single part of it and base your opinon on it.
Similar beliefs ARE NOT ENOUGH to be a separate race. Think about it holy shit...
Even if you took that first definition IT WOULDN'T FIT... Nazis didn't have same history or culture (some of them could, but that's beyond the point), they came from all over germany and beyond... They were just bunch of people united under similar POLITICAL VIEW, it doesn't make them a race...

I won't lie. I assumed that the comma between "culture, history, language, etc." was insinuating an "or" rather than an "and". The combination of all or several of them definitely makes more sense. I based my decision upon the comma meaning or. I will admit my mistake, but I will not dismiss the possibility that there may be other definitions that may fit with durf's declaration that Nazi's are a race. That was just a simple google search of "race definition". There may be a definition or race that fits with what Durf is calling race in another dictionary.

I had some sympathy for you on the sexism thing (not that I agreed with all or any of his points, before anyone jumps down my throat), but holy shit what am I reading?

I suggest you do some serious reading up on Nazism. Whether or not they are a race is irrelevant, when one of the main ideals of a group regards subjugating anyone that is not part of a particular race, are you surprised that people are prejudiced against them? Whether you think it's fair or not, in the Western world if you see a swastika you are going to think of Nazi Germany, or a toothbrush moustache you are going to think of Hitler, nobody in their right mind will name a baby 'Adolf' in the foreseeable future.

If a team calls themselves 'N4zis', it's pretty reasonable they are identifying with and glorifying* the Nazi party and its acts, particularly if one of the team leaders is named Hitler. You seem to think that there are innocent connotations to the word 'Nazi', there's not. It always did and always will refer to the National Socialist German Workers' Party.

*I doubt whoever signed the team up is a Nazi per se, probably just a kid who thinks it's amusing.

I stopped reading Durf, he makes no sense and tldr. (pls try to be synthetic, i don't have time for so much nonsense)

Just think that it is a game, people should come to have fun. One cannot have fun when people have hatred in their names. So names/team names that carry a meaning of hate shouldn't be allowed.

You don't see me creating a team called "GodDoesn'tExist2k15"
You really put that in the same category as "cancer saves" and "nazis"? sigh
