I'm sorry, but I don't like this idea. It punishes players that don't have the ability to play on the weekends. For the months where I was busy on weekends and couldn't play ladle, pickup during the week was the only "serious" fortress I got to play.Rhythm wrote:Here's a thought: what about making it so pickup only runs Friday-Sunday?
Brawl has been put back to only sundays. So no need to look for that anyway.J Dawg wrote:We Will never come to a conclusion if we try to reach out to every single player. We need to do this so that the Majority of players will have the time to play a pickup, say wednesday to friday? This way, we won't interfere with tournament sundays, as well as occasional brawl tournaments on saturday. If we did friday to sunday then pickup would mostly be popular on fridays, leaving saturday and sunday to be tournament days.
We can't understand how an answer helps us if we don't have a well-defined question. I will attempt to ask what that problem is in the survey. What is the meaning of life? 42.
If used incorrectly this would lead to the same problem we have now: public games being abandoned for pickup. What if there are 19 people in a server and 12 of them pledge to go have a serious game somewhere else? The move_to threshold should be kept fairly low, something like 6-8 players max. Both 3v3 and 4v4 Fortress are still fun.epsy wrote:A thing that may help spread players about would be for a few servers to run a join pledge system for switching servers(i.e. using MOVE_TO) once enough players have pledged to switch.

I didn't make myself clear, I meant a system between public servers, so that players willing to switch servers can opt to switch only if they can expect a game on the other side.sinewav wrote:If used incorrectly this would lead to the same problem we have now: public games being abandoned for pickup.
