play your matches! it's good to be on IRC (#armagetron.1v1) when you're available.

giving it another shot. the site has been simplified. Instead of creating matches for people to join, you now just directly challenge a player. When they accept, a score report form is generated. Disputes are handled similarly to before.

here's a video demonstration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqfSWUhPfrc (all that is sample data, not real match results)

PM me ingame, on forums or irc to activate your account for now: http://incam.tk/index.php

as members join, voting to activate new players will work.

matches are traditional 1v1 with the simplified scoring. Match is best of 3 sets. Each set is first to 6 points. I have a US server up called Concord's 1v1 Elo.

Every match is weighted the same. Your first match counts just as much as your hundredth. This eliminates the strategy where you try to maximize your Elo by waiting to play your first matches against higher rated opponents. They are all heavily weighted now, so you can change your score a lot. Top players should have Elos near 3000.

If you have any questions please ask.

I have stuck with this idea because I think it's cool to be able to get a competitive match that counts any time of day. 1v1 is a great and neglected form of sumo. My coding skills have improved since I started this project. My first attempt relied on trust and got violated. My second attempt got hacked as well and I improved from that. I got a little too carried away with the third attempt because of what I had learned in the second. This one should be around for a while.

Soul and I regretfully stranded in our attempt to play a 1v1 sumo game in the designated server because its settings weren't right. Could this be fixed?

apologies. I've been in conversation with another person who offered a 1v1 sumo and changed my settings believing his was up already. Anyway, the settings are fixed.
