King of The Hill Sumo Bar

Post by Cody »

While experimenting with some scoring methods, I stumbled on what I think would be a fun tournament.

Its a cut throat FFA King of The Kill type play, just in a zone.

How it would work.

Rounds would be 20.
The zone would shrink 2x faster than it does now.
You would get 60 points for conquering a zone.
You would get 100 points for dumping a player.

You're probably wondering why is it called King of The Hill with that scoring method?

WELL for being the very last person alive, you will get a whopping 1000 points.

Top 4 advance.

This tournament is for those who are seeking the ultimate sumo challenge, being the last one alive to get those precious points. The risk is high but the reward is greater.

Trial sign-ups for this tournament will open after WST

8 in a zone and all other sumo bar settings are the same?

Giving 1000 pts for being the last person means that the camper that doesn't kill anyone will still get more points than an aggressive player who may kill up to 6 players before losing to the camper.

Why not just only kill points if you want to empahsize the killing skill and aggression...

Lol isn't 1000 points a bit too much?

+1, why not 500 pts? therefore its more equal.. an aggressive player could kill 5 and a camper could survive round and still have a similar score.

Have you considered using King of The Hill zones? It is something that Kyle developed a while ago for the now defunct King of the Hill server. It is just one zone that stays up until only one person is left.

Rather host a 1v1 Single Bind Tournament instead, people will love it Cody (or at least I will, so that's one).
