Oh man, you should have asked someone about this earlier. I'm kind of laughing right now. Here is the Wikipedia entry for comments. If there's anyone who still needs a team for ladle 61, contact me. We had some unfortunate news for \\mym, and I doubt we're able to scrap the 2nd team after the brackets are already made (sine?).

I guess that depends on what you mean by scrap. All the rules still apply. Any of the players listed for the 2nd team can play in that slot. Any number of subs can play in that spot too, as long as they are not playing for another team of course. Now, where it gets touchy is if you wanted to move the entire 2nd team to the 1st team. Technically, you can replace two now, and pick up any of the rest as subs -- even if some wanted stay in the 2nd team's slot and play. However, this might look like illegal team-switching.

You did the right thing by posting here. The best course of action would be to try and fill the second team with subs. But if you have bad luck with that, just abandon that slot. Please let us know if you do (some people might want to do warm-up matches in that server).

If you do abandon the slot there are probably some people who will accuse you of team-switching, and that is understandable. But it is clear to me you are not trying anything under-handed. Both mYm teams are on the same side of the bracket and I don't see how there is any advantage gained, especially since your squads are very balanced. Every one of your players is a threat.* If anything, combining squads lightens the load for other teams that might face you, haha.

As always, my personal opinion is that we should do everything we can to get the most people in the game. Combining two squads of a super-team is not ideal because some people will inevitably sit out most of Ladle. But it is also not easy to keep teams together lately. I've heard some gossip about major splits from more than one team on the Challenge Board. :/

Yeah, what happened is we had a departure from the clan and one of the players on team 1 isn't sure he can be there all evening, so we have no subs for either team. I'll discuss it with the rest and come back to you on our decision, team 2 will most likely be scrapped and I hope nobody has an issue with that as we have no ill intentions.

Note: The following is not useful to 99% of you.

So, I'm super lazy you see (is this a quality of a good programmer?). I am tired of copying the teams from the Challenge Board and taking out the spaces and special characters so .randomteam will work correctly. Instead, I'll use a Python script to do it. The script takes the wiki code (easier to work with) from a file and outputs the .randomteam argument to the same file. The only work left to do is to check the number of seeds and put them in order. Of course, there is still no way to get around putting the spaces and special characters back into the teams once on the bracket, but whatever, it's slightly less work than before.

I'm thinking of writing it in PHP for my Ladle Tools page if anyone thinks this is useful.

As MYM2 requested, Wild West would also like to withdraw from the Ladle. We will forfeit our right to play in this ladle as both a team and individuals. I will remove our team from the Ladle board, as MYM2 has, if that's acceptable. Or do you have to do it, Sine? Either way, the decision was finalized, and so long as it's possible, that is what we would like to do.

Additionally, may we show up and substitute for teams should anyone need an extra player on game day? Or is that not allowed? I know we can't "sign up" for another, but what about showing up and filling in if needed?

You don't have to remove anything. The less editing we do the better (and I can't edit your team). Just posting here is enough to let everyone know your slot is open for warm-up matches and that your players will be substitutes.

However, Ladle is still more than a day away and it seems a waste to have so many players out of their initial teams. Is there any chance we could round up a few people for an ad hoc team? Maybe we can have a late entry with some Ww+mYM to play against one of the Phoenix teams? Seriously, is Phoenix that good you are afraid to play them? I know that's why all you guys are bailing out! I can see though you! Chicken vs. Phoenix: The showdown.

Of course, if any of you do make a team you should get approval from Phoenix first, in accordance with Ladle policy for late entries.

Sorry to see so many good players in a bad situation.

I would actually like to remove the team in it's entirety, as MYM2 did, to avoid confusion. I am sorry for going against your will and not keeping to the minimal edits, but I'll try and wipe them both out in one edit

I don't mean to go against your wishes by editing, I just prefer to make it clear and more organized by doing so. I am for an ad hoc team, though, should the players wish to do so. Let me know!

LoL chill. You are not going against my wishes. It's just a good idea to keep edits down because every time an edit is made the potential for a mistake increases. But this certainly will make it less confusing on Sunday, so thanks Ratchet.

And everyone, let's keep in mind I am not in charge of the wiki or the Ladle. No one needs my permission to do shit. However, I do appreciate the useful feeling I get when you ask my opinion on stuff. I guess I've probably spent the most time thinking about this stuff, but always remember to call bullshit on me when you feel slighted.

Notice: We are still short 1 US server and 1 EU server.
I'm working on a solution now, but I can't promise anything.
