Ladle 52

Ladle 52 will be held on December 4th, 2011! : D

As most of you know, the Wiki for Armagetron is down at the moment and in this includes the Ladle page. As this is being fixed I see no reason why we can't organize this by other means. The forums will suffice and being that I've helped with the Ladle page most of the year, I'll start this up in order to help continue the fluidity of the tournament.

Despite the wikipage being down, we have plenty of community members who can help if they see something going against what the rules are. If you have a team that you'd like to sign up for ladle, please leave a post in the following topic. After brackets are released I'll migrate the Team List into this topic, so that everything is on one page. For now it'll help in keeping things organized.

As for how the brackets will be sorted out: I think we could use a site that allows for more features than we're used to. Randomization should all go the same, but brackets will be a little cuter this time around. I'll help fill those in when the time comes.

The good news: the Wiki is back and should be usable.
The bad news: it's running on the same poor little system as my ladle server, and I don't know yet how much of additional lag that causes. I strongly recommend using that one only for the opening round this time.

how about let people sign up in both places, and then combine the lists when the brackets are made? This way we avoid as much error resulting from confusion as possible.

I won't be around to help out with brackets today. For anyone interested, there is a new Ladle Tool, the "Bracket Helper." Saves lots of time and makes for fewer mistakes. The page isn't documented yet (busy week), but you simply put the output of .randomteam and/or the server distributor in the left pane and the wiki code for the bracket in the right pane, then press "combine" -- it smashes them together nicely. Of course, you'll still want to check for mistakes and maybe bold some bye'd teams or whatever.
