Yeah, I pm'ed Olive as well so we should have 7 if he's able to play.
PM me a list of teams and captains, a fully updated one I mean (it doesn't look like everyone's correctly placed.) I'll create the subforums once I have it.

Dariv: Hispanics aren't all from one country, Its a "Spanish speaking native origined team"
Re: Fort Cup - Discussion Thread
do you speak spanish mkay? and i mean speak, fluently... also what hispanic origin have you got?
Re: Fort Cup - Discussion Thread
Like people have said repeatedly, it's merged Spain and Portugal until there are enough players. Merging is acceptable.Mkay1 wrote:Dariv: Hispanics aren't all from one country, Its a "Spanish speaking native origined team"
Splitting a country into four parts then putting the leftovers into a random other country that doesn't quite have enough... is just stupid.
How hard is it. You put the country where you live. Someone will then arrange you into a team. What else is there for 11 pages, apart from the moaning from people who are upset that they won't make the first 6 of their country?

Until you are personally affected by this, shut up.dariv wrote:What else is there for 11 pages, apart from the moaning from people who are upset that they won't make the first 6 of their country?
Re: Fort Cup - Discussion Thread
How about everyone plays for whatever little flag is listed next to them on gridstats.

Best solution so far, really.ppotter wrote:How about everyone plays for whatever little flag is listed next to them on gridstats.
INW: what's so terrifying about missing out on a tournament? It's not like it's embarrassing to not be the top 6 in USA, you have a lot of really really good players.
And I'm missing out on the tourney until Sweden has a bigger playerbaseINW wrote:Until you are personally affected by this, shut up.

The answer is in the question itself.Titanoboa wrote: INW: what's so terrifying about missing out on a tournament?
Missing a tournament is why it is so terrifying.
Re: Fort Cup - Discussion Thread
I think that's why we're not getting anywhere. Most of us (including me) have selfish motives in this discussion.
My selfish motive is to (at the cost of some people not getting to play) get a more serious tournament.
As for you, you want to make it possible for everyone to get to play (at the cost of a less serious tournament).
Both of our opinions are valid, but I'm wondering: what about all the other tournaments you can play in? This is gonna be played once a year over one or two sundays. It's not like you're banned from the public fortress servers. Plus, if you practice, you can make next year's team :)
This year, btw, the management (is that just Deso and Sylla?) seems to have decided on having two USA teams and allowing merged teams. Don't think I'm trying to push it through for this year (the time is short), but rather for the future.

Re: Fort Cup - Discussion Thread
I felt like the participation was a little too low compared to last year to constitute having all those restrictions implemented this year.

I know I have the skill to make a U.S.A. team easy. It is politics that I'm worried about.Titanoboa wrote:Plus, if you practice, you can make next year's team
The point of not making the one team because x team captain doesn't like you is what I am pointing out.

Anyway, that's what I've been saying from the beginning. Having a team captain or two picking their teammates WOULD be biased, but having everybody from that nation vote on which players should represent it is not.INW wrote:The point of not making the one team because x team captain doesn't like you is what I am pointing out.

No. A team should consist of 8 or 9 players.PokeMaster wrote:You think you're one of the top 6 US players? o:INW wrote:I know I have the skill to make a U.S.A. team easy.
Can't forget about subs.
Re: Fort Cup - Discussion Thread
why isn't insa in the team hispanics like last time -_-
Re: Fort Cup - Discussion Thread
why not make it like this:
The first six players from a country who signed up first are in the first team.
The next 1-2 players are subs and when more than 12 players add for a country teams will be
splitted in two: player 1-6 =team 1 and 7-12 = team 2
no discussion or stuff and everything is fine.
