On another note...we had a little 4v4 in R's kansas today. It performed pretty terribly, so we definitely won't be signing it up. Other servers should be tested too for wiggling and doublegrinding a wall over and over, with 8 people playing.

Due to the fact that 15 teams have signed up.. I feel the need to limit it to the point where the max number of teams should be 16 for this first tournament. This is mostly due to the fact that assuming we get all the servers we were promised (2 euro Tru, 1 euro kyle, 1 euro ai, 1 us R, 1 us kyle, 1 us ww, 1 us compguye). It is exactly 8. When I started this topic i assumed that there would be only 6 teams to sign up max. I'm glad that so many people are interested in this tournament, but I do hope you people see my logic in keeping it down to 16 teams.
Anyways poke: the 4v4 we had today I didn't find all that bad lag wise but it is a good idea to test the servers out.

No, that server was garbage today. At one point I lagged so bad I almost yelled at Tobe. After a respawn, my screen showed him driving into my defense and cutting the flag. I started driving around his trail, just about to rage at him, and suddenly... he vanished! He was never there!
wind: technically, if it's single elimination, you'll only need more than 8 servers once you have 25+ teams. Since with 16-24 teams, it's still just 8 matches going on at once at max. Theoretically speaking. It's your tourney though, do as you please.
Oh titan please do not make the mistake of calling this my tournament. I take zero credit for bringing this tournament to you people. Besides the main reason for the post on the main arma forums is so that everyone on tron can have a say on when and how the tournament is run. The wiki page is up so that these tournaments (if this one is successful) can be run by the community and not by a single clan. So once again this is not any one persons tourney.
As for the servers it would be nice if the people who said they would help us out would post their server on the wiki page (just as a confirmation for my own sanity)
As for the amount of teams I guess it would be fine to have more than 16 teams and rotate through the servers, but I doubt for this first tournament that we would get that many.
I asked zurd if he could possibly make a contribution, and he said that he might be able to contribute two (I believe US) servers. I'll ask him again about it the next time I see him. And I've also asked sine about his AoT server. He said he'll see what he can do. Progress on that is here.
