In fact, this post apparently indicates it may have been as late as September/October 2009.
Wow, didn't know that. :o

I thought it disappeared not too long after goshdarn.

Nah, different settings, including a handful that weren't even in existence until after 0.2.8.x. The fullscreen welcome message says its the "spiritual successor to Tiger's Network Classic Play."

Tiger's Network is older than any of those, too. :)

Maybe you don't realise that Fortress (the game mode) didn't even exist until, like, 2006?

I seem to remember the first fortress topic coming around in 2004. (Or 2005, but iirc it was 2004). I can't seem to find it now though.

Sigh, we've been over this. The first fortress topic: http://forums3.armagetronad.net/viewtop ... =25&t=2529. October, 2005. And I'm not even sure that the (at that time, one and only) fortress server referred to in that thread was a stable one, in terms of no longer being at least partially experimental. Seems like it wasn't locked down, from a development standpoint, until a few months later, in early 2006. And it wasn't until quite a bit later that you all adopted the standardised physics paradigm that now plagues the master server list.

Fortress wasn't even possible, simply did not exist, until 0.2.8, which was released in late 2005. It has only been around about half of Arma's online lifespan.

Haha I was just so addicted to high rubber I hardly left to any other server when almost all of the high rubber players went to sumo I just followed and from there it was a step away from playing my first fortress match to my first ladle and from there I was hooked
