Ladle 27 Discussion/plan for voting of settings
I was looking at my calendar, and I realized that it's time for us to start discussing the voting for settings in Ladle 27. Personally, I am perfectly happy with the current settings, and think we really shouldn't bother to change them at this time. But, the plan was to discuss this, every third ladle.
I would like to also open a second topic beyond settings for discussion. Given recent events in the FPL league, I think we need to discuss ways to handle annoying and/or unruly players. A few of the players in the FPL drama have already stated that they will do whatever they did in the FPL, only more. So, I think that we need to have a plan on how to deal with said situation. My thought is that the team leader from the opposite team should just silence them, period. But, I am not the only one here. Let's discuss this.

As I pointed out in a comment on the fpl desaster I think it would be best if the teamleaders don't have any control concerning admin commands and if there are "team-independent" referees (at least for a match like DS vs Plus)

But just wondering, since the last time the question got brought up. There are no admins? Like universal ones? Every once in a while along comes a dude who cannot understand the concept of "stfu and talk in /team"- and yarly, although everyone can silence said person, it's better to have a mod to maintain some kind of decorum? Just an idea since I remember hoaxi asking me if I had admin last time and saying "the one time..." aka the one time we needed it nobody had it ^^ hihi
I reckon there should be some global mods for ladle like Z-Man/epsy/compguygene people who can be trusted etc.

Time needs to go back to starting later; summer time will be over by this ladle making it too early..
& if there is a simple way to do it, seeding ftw

Well, because Ww will not be fielding a team this time (enough members seem to have scheduling conflicts), I planned to help with administering the Ladle this time. I do think that we may need to have some admins going from server to server to keep problems from getting out of hand.

Voting discussion already? Wow, time really flies. Ok, so Vote on Returning the Ladle start time, and adding a space on the Challenge Board for Global Admins. Sounds good. And...
I have no other voting suggestions.
...is just fine. Really people, is it that hard?Lizmatic wrote:Rude players:

* Server logs should be mandatory. If you can't provide logs don't provide a server.

Dittos. I have heard no real dissent from people, since the last time we voted, on settings. The two issues above seem to be the only ones under debate. I think we should give it only a couple days in this thread to make sure anybody that wants to say different can do so, then we start a voting thread.sinewav wrote:Voting discussion already? Absolutely! It is maddening to discover that server logs were not available in the DS vs Plus FPL match! As a server admin, I always just assumed that expected. Apparently, this must be stated. I save all my server logs forever. So, in 10 years, if we would like to review the history of things, we can. I just move logs off the server to archive them.epsy wrote:* Server logs should be mandatory. If you can't provide logs don't provide a server.

I think that if someone is really being an idiot or abusing certain settings/commands, we can have a vote among the teamleaders - if it's won by a 2/3 vote, then the player is out for the next ladle.

This isn't going to turn into another whacky drama thread, is it?
