That is the maximum number of users that were online simultaniously, not the total number of users

Yeah, I was a bit suprised at that too. I'm not sure what caused it... Hopefully just lots of people browsing. Who knows...

I was here too at such a busy moment. When I checked the list in detail, all guests were "posting a message".

How can guests even post messages?

Maybe it is just the MSN bot going crazy. On my site it causes almost 50% of a day's traffic sometimes...

A guest can't post messages. But apparently their status is changed to "Posting a message" while the server is generating a response stating they can't.

Whatever the forum thinks it does, I'm still pretty sure it is some Search engine spider that got caught in all the different links in this forum and requested them all at once. I say MSN search because it's the crappiest one around.

Thanks, and yeah, that's a possibility, but I've seen other spiders not registering in the max online people bit, which is what makes me suspicious.
