Post by NErD »

whenever i see someone on arma forums post they have a small rank or sub-text above their name e.g. "corner grinder and core dumper" seem to be the most common but also ones like "the former man of cheese" how does some1 get one of these ranks is it forum post based or simply getting yourself known in the game itself???

any info greatly recieved thnx :)

The most common ranks are automatic based on # of posts. Sometimes the admin, Tank Program, decides to give one of us a special rank. I got mine because I said I hadn't been a victim of it yet.

Mere mortals have ranks that are based on the number of posts they wrote. More posts make a higher rank.

Sometimes if someone is very important (like z-man) or if Tank Program is in a weird mood (happened to Sabarai, philippeqc and Jonathan at least) he gives people special ranks ;P

I got mine because somebody (Joe?) messed up my picture when I asked to :P And Tank put it as my avatar and put the "man of cheese"-title or something. I changed my picture and he changed the title...

OH yeah, i remember that sab, i placed an emote icon over your face for an avatar and looked it looked like a cheese head

Mine's a direct quote from me from a conversation I was having in the arma channel on irc and tank found it to be quite hilarious.

I didn't quite get what I just said until about 45 minutes later. Now its pretty golden to me.

Yeah, Tank can be quite a joker. I'm curious what would happen if he gave someone else the privileges to change *his* title. :) Anyone think it would turn into a link to an MS Paint cartoon?

It was more like (may not be 100% accurate, but it's close):
OMG OMG!
CH33S3 M4N!

Shouldn't wrtl be at least a project developer?
