Short lag at the beginning on macbook

Hey,

Since I've been playing Armagetron on my new MacBook I always get a short lag at the beginning of each round, no matter which server. Only after making a few turns does the screen stop stuttering. Anyone know what to do about it? I'm using version 0.2.8.3.2.

Is it the center messages that are causing it? You could test that.

It may help to lower your graphics options, and disable effects on your desktop.

Sounds like the more or less well known and unfixable (safe for 0.4) timer sync problem to me. That one seems to hit MacBooks quite often.

This used to happen to me a lot (I also use a Macbook). Over time it kinda stopped happening so frequently. When it does happen I've just learned to ignore it and grind a little safer if in fort.

Yeah it stopped since I started using .4 (after Jip recommending it to me as an answer to the same problem)
