An issue with Armagetron

I'm having a rather annoying issue which I couldn't be bothered to report before, but whenever I go from fullscreen to windowed and then to fullscreen again, AA minimizes and won't come out of the taskbar when I click it. Why is this? I'm using version 0.3_alpha8870 and I'm on windows 7.

Maybe an issue with SDL on Windows 7? Doesn't sound like something particularly Armagetron specific.

I think we already fixed this in the current codebase, at least on 0.2.8. I remember doing something with the minimize event, and I can reproduce the problem on the 0.3 version cited here (but only when I set the color depth to 16 bit), but not on 0.2.8.3.1. Could you check whether 0.2.8.3.1 is affected for you?

(Naturally, I went looking for the code change. The only thing I did find was something that only affects Linux.)

I also have this problem when i switch from full screen to minimize when someone is IM or something it occurs.

I am running Windows XP Service Pack 3, AA 2.8.3.1

Odd, I could not reproduce the problems with 0.2.8.3.1. Anyway, here's a test executable. Unzip it into your regular 0.2.8.3.1 installation folder. It removes the line that manually iconifies AA when it is deactivated from fullscreen. It doesn't seem to be required at all (not on XP or 7, I'll check on 98 later), but could cause trouble if stray events are sent. I wouldn't know what would cause them (as I said, I can't properly reproduce the problem, and even if I could, debugging events is hell, because hitting breakpoints causes more events).

So, those that have this problem with 0.2.8.3.1: download and test, please.

and it's also not possible for me to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode. whenever i switch back to fullscreen it changes the resolution of my desktop but that's all. (i use 0.3 alpha)

Word, what's your full screen resolution set to in the config? Sounds like it's set to the same as the window resolution...
