Ah, nice find Lacka... although I see its only supported for

o ATI Radeon™ HD 5970 Series

Look harder. It says full OpenCL acceleration is only supported on those cards, which doesn't mean the hotfix doesn't work or doesn't do anything useful.

Finally there is an ATI driver out for Windows Vista and 7 (both 32 and 64bit). It is currently in a beta stage and can be downloaded here http://sites.amd.com/us/underground/Pag ... round.aspx. I tested it this morning playing for about 40 minutes online using the latest 0.3 and everything worked fine. I'll play for more than an hour soon and report the result, but I hope it works now.

Hmm there's been proper ATI Win 7 drivers 32 & 64bit out for ages now? Since Q4 09 at least

If you have problems try just installing the display driver only and not catalyst control center

AFAIK, the only ati drivers for notebooks came from the notebook manufacturer, at least for the newer mobility radeon cards. Try searching on their website, it still tells you to ask your laptop manufacturer for the driver. But this new beta driver comes directly from ATI just as the drivers for desktop computers. And as far as I can tell, it fixed my problem and works just fine.

Ah ok didn't realise you were on a notebook. That's nice, manufacturers hardly update theirs.
