3D Tutorials?
3D Tutorials?
I see the things people are making for this game.
Any of you want to make a tutorial in how to make 3d bike models?
I've had 3dmax sitting on this pc for months. and I have no idea how to use it anymore. Even when i had a clue, I did not know how to make bike models.
A 3d Bike Model Tutorial would be Great!

Blender tutorials...
I also have 3ds max sitting in my computer with NO IDEA how to use it. But I DO have a good grasp on Blender! I found there were some Video tutorials at their home site. They were of immense help!

Oh yes, blender is my friend
I'm sure its just a matter of finding out how to eport your model in the proper format... I'll do a little investiagtion on the subject when I find the time.

Exporting...
I have a prog that does JUST that. It's called "3-d Object Converter". But it's a Windows prog. I find it to be a useful tool. If you wanna check it out, just sent me a message and tell me where to e-mail it.
12 complicated steps
12 complicated (or not so much complicated) steps to export your model from Blender into Wavefront .OBJ format (which is already very similiar to the Armagetron .mod format and probably very trivially to support):linuxlizzard wrote:Oh yes, blender is my friend

For 3D tutorials , I guess you'll have to look at the documentation for 3D Studio / Blender etc.
@Models: Concerning Armagetron Ad, I guess Edd is your best resource for Cycle Models, as he already did that:
final Low polygon Cycle Model:

Links to his model download page:
http://forums.armagetronad.net/viewtopic.php?t=3080
@Size of a cycle Model:
http://forums.armagetronad.net/viewtopi ... 9791#69791
@ASE Export:
With 3D Studio Max 7+ (you just go to File->Export export as "ASCII Scene Export") Perhaps earlier versions are also supported.
Just talk to edd about copyrights and permission to use his work.
Animation is only supported for the supplied (.mod files because the animation is hardcoded and uses it's exact dimensions!).
You can prepare your model for animation by setting the pivots right and making a object group for each part to be animated. But currently only
unanimated models are supported by the moviepacks.
This will change once the rendering code of Armagetron Ad is redesigned.
