Got something that makes Armagetron look shiny? Post it here.

Ok, double post and this is getting kinda off-topic... I tried making a moviepack folder and putting the Bike.PNG and the Cycle.ASE in it, but it didn't work, even though I turned "moviepack" on in-game everything still looks the same. Any help?

You can download the original moviepack first, then you can replace the files and see if it works.

That is the error message I get when it tries to load my model... Any ideas?

the texture needs an alpha channel, it's RGBA (transparent png). you can do that with gimp. and it shouldn't be too big.

I guess I give up. I've gotten the cycle to show up in-game, but the texture still wont show, so unless some kind soul would be willing to help me out further through MSN or PM, I wont clutter up this thread with my own issues anymore. :P Looking forward to seeing more entries in the contest though.

Uh, sure. I'll attach the entire moviepack folder I have as a .rar

The cycle.ASE doesn't contain any texture coordinates (MESH_TVERT and MESH_TFACE elements). I suppose you have to tick a box in the export dialog for that.

Haha, now it shows up in game and it looks like shit... Well, I guess it serves me right for putting effort into something. lol. If someone wants the file I'd be happy to PM it to ya and let you have a crack at it, cause personally... I'm done.

Do post it, please. The problem most likely is that our lighting engine sucks. Good artists can (partly) work around that by adapting the texture.

Did any of this ever get exported to the wiki page? There's so much good stuff in these forums that's impossible to find unless you know what you're looking for, would be nice to see some more of the good stuff on the wiki page where it's easily found :D
