i downloaded the newest version of aadvanced so i could have the new font's "§" at the front of my name..

i ran into some bugs & such.. the first being the follow speed of hte custom cam, which changed recently..

gonna quote the settings.cfg remark about it..

i felt dizzy when playing the new version, the camera swung around to slow, or too fast or somtehing.. then i changed the upper (new) values to match the old... changed from 4,4 to 40, 2

and the custom camera feels EXACTLY the same way it used to, & doesnt make me dizzy anymore

there may be a similar change to the default camera too, dunno, dont use that one much.. but ppl complain about the camera feeling diffferent alot, & often switch back to oolder version for same feel..

ok... onto the rest of my post... i guess i'll just quote from chat,.. mostly has to do with dll's on the windows compile, need to be fixed..

every version since 2.7.1 wont run on my computer unless i install the old dll';s from a previous version into the root folder..

my config is: windows98, amd athelon, geforce2 mx

<wrtlprnft> make an autoexec.cfg and put your settings in there. That way you can apply them to any new version very easily

i guess thats it..

wonder if deadmans trail is fixed yet.. too.. the invisitrail part of the end of someones trail, on a short tails server.. like fortress.. several bike lengths of invisitrail at teh end of someoens trail when they die.. b4 thier trail decays away,.. the end tip has lots of invisitrail on it.. or used to anyways i'll test & see if its fixed on this version.. & post back here my findings..

as far as i can tell, the deadmans trail bug is fixed now..

maybe someone on shrunkland can help me test it more..

cuz it may only have occured on a short tails server if the person died b4 thier end started to move.. not sure..

anywho, i tested agaisnt some bots locally, (for both types of ways^) & as far as i could tell, it is fixed

The smart camera will also be configurable (the configurability is not supported really, but it is there). The only change from 0.2.7.1 defaults is something that fixes the bug that the camera would, when you grind for a longer time, rise high above and look too far down so you don't see where you're going, and the glancing. Both can be reverted.

About the wrong dlls: Which build did you get? GCC or VC6? Iceman, the only other person I'm aware of who still uses Win98, had problems with VC6, but GCC worked fine.

For the art files, there are separate threads scattered in Armagetron/General.

Then try VC6 :) That's how it was always built before and what should work. Iceman also has a heavily modified system, so strange things may happen there.
