Will possibly add more stuff in the future, maybe a few drawings that illustrate a few standard maneuvers.

Is rubber really 80? That's really high. I have a hard time believing anybody can die with 80 rubber. :)

Or did you read 80 off your rubber gauge? IN that case, rubber is actually 8. The rubber gauge (which has been recently fixed) for no known reason multiplies rubber by 10.

Edit: Also, in my personal experience, recent sex screws up my game. I usually play worst right afterwards.

lucifer: i know that its 8 in the settings, but most people refer to the gauge. nobody gets when you say "a rubber of 8" except the server admins. most players talk gauge values.

sex worked very well for me so far, relieves stress ;)

Hmm, it seems you have blocked my IP address. I can't load your site from home, but I can if I ssh into a remote server and try (using lynx).

Indeed, the problem with the gauge is either fixed or going to be fixed. :) (z-man posted somewhere else that he did it, so the rc's should have it fixed)

Your intent is good, but misinformation is bad. If you don't want to burden new players reading your tutorial with versions, you might just say "Rubber of 8 (note: some rubber gauges will read '80' instead of 8 )". Because misinformation is bad. :)

Not to be arsey or to sound elitist (though some will take it as such), but, unfortunately, there's nothing unique there. A whole hell of a lot of players play like that, or at least try to, and in nearly any server you mention—where things like "ironing" are allowed, anyway. Personally—and consider this a matter of taste if that'll keep people from having a cow—I'd consider that a guide on how not to play, even if it's effective for some. Not that every single thing there needs to be avoided entirely, but: Why be afraid of the inside? That's where all the fun and interesting things happen. Why constantly speed everywhere? It's unnecessary and cheap. Why not "dance" with your opponents? It's fun, interesting, takes moves and quick thinking, and it's effective when properly executed. Why put so much effort and concern into 180s and adjusts? They're tedious and cheap. I could go on. I won't. People get mad at me and then hunt me down while drunk and harrass me in-game. :|

lucifer: i fixed it right away when you mentioned it.

oscilloscope: read the strategy part. i name going inside as one of the possibilities, and i also mention that its greater fun. the guide is about owning tho, not about having fun. having fun is something entirely different ;)

They are afraid of going inside because of infinite walls and no dump holes.
I used play alot on tigers classic with nearly the same settings ... but i can say I am tired of it.

Since i discovered fortress and shrunkland I am only there. MUCH more fun and imo much more skill needed than double-triple binding and do the best grinds.

I can say that because I am still one of the few players left using singlebinds but I have my share of the wins on these servers. And Imo the best players on tron play there. (Swampland too)

I see this turned into a rant :(

Have fun!

shrunkland is indeed fun, but has also a few weak spots that make it easy to own.

go akira, proud single binder here too :)
actually i've only changed one thing from the defaults, brake is left shift
and i rarely use it, playing alot of swamplord servers...
Anyway, there's a lot of stuff in that guide that well... it's the kind of thing i usually tell people learning how to play NOT to do, like adjusting, 180ing, things like that
KamP's Maxims for Every Server
1. Beware people coming really fast
2. When in doubt, play it safe
3. When not in doubt, go inside
4. Be polite, damn it
5. Know what you're doing
Explanation of Five:
That means that you should get to know how fast your fingers are, what happens when you do this, what happens when you do that. If you know exactly what to expect when you do a certain combination of finger taps, then server lag ceases to be a problem. Well a big problem at least. Works well for me.
6. Don't adjust, rape walls, or hump rims
7. If someone DOES come really fast, jsut sit around, they usually leave big boxes (NOTE: dancing shoes a must)
8. i'm running out of things
9. but i want to get to ten
10. Have Fun!
