I'll translate whole thing in serbo-croatian which covers around 20 million people in Balkans.
I have to agree with word about content of the manual.

How to turn, speed up, and brake.
How to change their name and color.
How to join an online game.
How to chat.
Anyone with a very small brain will figure this out in 15 mins, but ok, it makes things easier, so this is bare minimum of what should manual contain.

I have some time now. Would a pdf be OK?

I'd just need some short texts for this because I don't know if I should explain every single menu point or not.
How to turn, speed up, and brake.
How to change their name and color.
How to join an online game.
How to chat.
here's some raw version, I know it looks ugly:

May I suggest that you just create a new wiki page on the Wiki for this? It would be a lot easier to collaborate that way, and others, like myself, can contribute. I have some things that I had written for TR2NOrigins that with minimal modifications can be used.
If we do this right, we could create a full user manual, including discussions of the various popular game modes. The current Wiki could be a great place to work this out. The current Wiki "manual" is rather incomplete. I don't think it would be too difficult for some developer to include a User Manual in an Armagetron Build. It would be optimal to add a button in tron that displays the User Manual. Ideally, it would just pass the web address of the User Manual on the Wiki to the default browser. This might be an easier solution to implement than to display the manual in-game. A number of games have gone to an online User Manual. The beauty of this is that you can continually update it.
Armagetron: It's a video game that people should just play and enjoy :)

we also should update the manual that comes with the game too. Or at the very least point to the wiki.

I mean the docs still talk about getting the code from CVS repository and other things that have changed since they were last updated.

Sorry to be negative, but do we need to teach players bug exploits in the manual? Colored chat and the overflow exploit should not be in there.

The html version linked to by kyle is in the bzr branches, by the way. Patches welcome :) Or give me a free afternoon and I'll update it. Hey Word, want to babysit? :)

Sorry to be so negative, but does the PDF have to be almost 5MB? For the amount of content, the thing should be no larger than 100kb. It could use some better design, no offense.

as I said, it's raw (to avoid saying "shit")...and exported from Photoshop because I didn't reinstall Adobe Acrobat yet.
I just posted it because I wanted to know what else the manual should include or what I should leave out.
