Hole At the Start? (Works better in 8v8 than 6v6)
I noticed that since there are more players in an 8v8 (duh), you could have position #1 suicide-hole the wall in front of him (since he hasn't used any rubber at the start) and then have position #2 or #3 (the one doing this should not double-grind at the start so he can save rubber) go through and then grind for an easy center attack...does that make sense?
Here, I drew it up:
What's better...normal 8v8 or 8v7 with 1 player (potentially) in the enemy's zone?

Well, there would be a dead tail in tour defense.

wouldn't it make more sense in a way that the pos 2 makes the hole which would block the enemy center off, and the pos 1 has 5 rubber left for center attacking.
Big weakness is of course that you'd leave your own center wide open, and fall into a player disadvantage (in numbers, at least).
(@Mkay: the dead tail would disappear fast enough for the def to set up normally)

The success of this would be for how long it takes the other team to get wise

You could say the same with the "torpedo" tactic. This is supposed to be a one-round buzz-kill.Hoax wrote:The success of this would be for how long it takes the other team to get wise

Yes like all tactics eventually. I'm pretty sure this would work for more than 1 round against a team like vcl :D:D:D

Agreed. We have plenty of proof. Durka's so behind the times. Although I did see him playing the other day. Yeah, he didn't even miss rounds to text either!sinewav wrote:I invented that.

Also, position 3 makes the hole. Position three has to grind or your team is screwed. Also, position 1 has to cover center while the hole develops.
