Confusing Server Setting

Post by dylan »

WELL, im gonna try to explain this as un-confusing as possible.
Now im looking for a setting which i cant find.Im looking to see if theres a setting that makes you go into a wall/rim ect. equally.Whether your holding in the brake or not.So if some one comes in at regular speed and is going into the wall and someone with brake on going into wall. There equal=
Im not sure if anyone got that?
But if anyone would know a setting I could try that would be TONS of help

LoL, are you being sarcastic? OR did i just nto explain it right?
It snot that, because i still want a brake. But in a server, lets say The ds server.I can hold brake and dig really deep into rim.But in my server i dig really deep like the ds server but then someone touches down on wall for like 5 seonds andgoes even deeper/or beats me?
would it have something to do with that cycle_rubber_mindistance settings?

Nope.. :( didnt work.
Well in the ds server wheni was saying i can get real deep.
Well wat i do is i twitch against a wall.
Like when u press a left and a right at the same time.Well i can do that in ds server and no one can get by.But when i do that in my server someone could just take a second on the rim and get by?

CYCLE_RUBBER_MINDIST_UNPREPARED 0
is your ticket then, it set to a finite value is what makes a series of 180s less deep of a grind than a single, well timed grind. Obviously, that setting was introduced because I share Silly's opinion on that matter, but it's your server.

There are other CYCLE_RUBBER_MINDIST settings, maybe you should set them all to zero? Except CYCLE_RUBBER_MINDIST_RATIO, that definitely is required to avoid nasty problems.

i Tried it, it seemed to help a little but didnt fix the problem.
But one of those settings seems to have bugged are server bad.U get stoped when u double-bind back out.Fron what's seems like a invisble wall that wont let u by.Its kinda odd...will try putting all the settings back to how they were before. :?

The getting stuck problem happens for me if I set CYCLE_RUBBER_MINADJUST or CYCLE_DELAY to zero, then a db180 will turn around on the spot and you (sometimes) directly hit your own wall.

So another possible solution for you may be to crank up CYCLE_RUBBER_MINADJUST to .5 and leave the MINDISTANCE settings at large values; I'd experiment with CYCLE_RUBBER_MINDISTANCE in the range of 0.01 to 0.1 (which already leaves quite a visible gap between walls).
