Map_Rotation

Post by INW »

I have asked for some help through sine+wav and he has not been able to solve my problem. (thank you for trying lol)

I am trying to use map_rotation in my config but the server is not recognizing the map_files. Here is what my map_rotation line looks like

Code: Select all

MAP_ROTATION Z-Man/fortress/for_old_clients-0.1.0.aamap.xml;ed/catfight/chico_sumo-0.0.1.aamap.xml;
ROTATION_TYPE 1
When i enter the server, i get a blank map (the default polygon map), both the maps work separately though.

Below is a screenshot of the commands that come up when i enter the server. I noticed the map_repository changes from _ to http://resource.armagetronad.net/resource which is odd because i never noticed a server changing the repository from _ to another...i thought it was automatic. Nothing abnormal about the commands.

It seems my server is not recognizing the map_files and sine+wav doesnt see a problem with the format of the map_rotation line.

Please help. (:

I don't think the repository is cause for alarm. Can you post the server's output? And you know the rotation only kicks in after a round is played?

I have sat for an entire match to test the rotation one time. By "server's output" you mean.....what the server is doing in my server prompt?

Well i cant copy and paste the entire command prompt simply because the program doesn't let me highlight or right click anything. I can tell you that the prompt's output is normal and nothing wrong with its output.

Normally in a config, a server recognizes a map through the command map_file and it seems my server is not recognizing the map_rotation command. The output of my server doesn't even give a command that it is changing maps like every server tells you when u enter it...i am using a branch of .3 so there should not be a problem.

What kind of command prompt doesn't let you copy/paste? Anyway, please just send a screenshot then. Which branch are you using? Then I can get it, compile it, add your config, and troubleshoot locally.

You can copy and paste INW. Right click the top of the window, edit, mark. then you can highlight. Highlight what you want then press enter to copy it. ;)

Well, then. Map rotation is only supported on Trunk versions. I think it was on 0.3.0 already. Also, I'm pretty sure the version of 0.2.8.3.1 we distribute has armathentication enabled and should thus understand the various ACCESS_LEVEL_ commands.

the server shows up on the master list and peopl ehave played in it....the prompt just does that.

And if my computer is functioning properly, which it most likely isnt because it is a piece of shit, the version i have downloaded is the specified version i displayed in the above post.

If not, what is the exact version i should download that is the "trunk" version and has map_rotation?

He entered the wrong syntax. They should all be ACCESS_LEVEL COMMAND # so to only give the ban privilege to moderators and higher would be ACCESS_LEVEL BAN 2

Oh, right. Didn't pay attention there.

And the only official build with map rotation would be 0.3.0, which is old-ish. No armathentication there. The current protobuf versions still make trouble here and there, so you don't want those, either.

So the correct command would be ex:

access_level kill 2
NOT access_level_kill 2?

If so, ty Durka. ^^

EDIT:

Nvm about the question in bold up there. ^^
