MBC IP change

Post by microbus »

Two weeks ago, the MBC Arma server changed IP's, and none of
the master server's show MBC yet.
I know something was done several months ago to ensure MBC
was showing in the masters, but no idea what it was.
( Maybe wrtl has an idea )
In any event, the new IP addy for MBC is 72.233.51.46

Server config wasn't changed at all when the server moved,
talk to master is on and all that there sort of stuff :)

The quikest thing to check is the last line output by the terminal/console window. It should show "bound to socket (ip address)". If it looks like this "bound to socket **.**.**.**" then you have the wrong ip. The only two other things it could be is the port forwarding (server_port must match the portforward and the firewall) or firewall.

Did you try upgrading MBC to 0.2.8? :) That was why something special had to be done (and iirc, it has to be done on zman's, because that's the only one 0.2.7.1 knows about)

Thanks Quarg... yeah, it shows
bound socket to *.*.*.*:34178
bound socket to *.*.*.*:4534

And thanks Lucifer... I'll get that upgrade done :)

The special thing that is done is not done because the server runs an old version, it is because it never restarts and never informs the master server about its existence. I think. What is done about it is that on my laptop, a dummy master server is started and injects the IP of it into the master system mesh. I updated the system to the new IP.

Thanks guys... AntiX put a line in stating the IP address, yesterday.
I just checked master server 3, and MBC is showing again! Woohoo!!
It was that 'bound to socket' solution :)
