I did that, I changed the p/w to test.
Then I tried with and without /. No luck, same result.
Also I put ADMIN_PASS in the everytime file and removed it from the settings_dedicated file.
That didn't work either so I put it back.
I did a search of all configs and ADMIN_PASS is located only in the settings_dedicated configuration file.

but when you type 'ADMIN_PASS password' in the server console it tells you 'ADMIN_PASS changed from oldpass to newpass' right?

The server's in a datacenter in NJ so what i have is a CP that Luke supplied to edit the config files and restart the server.

Get luke to test that then. I seem to remember having trouble with it picking up the password from the config file once myself.

I've had that problem too, back in the day, and put the password in everytime.cfg, which fixed it.

Ok it's been fixed by Luke. Apparently the file format was wrong.
Thanks everyone for your input and ideas. :)

FWIW, apparently FireFox is stupid and sends DOS-formatted textareas.
As a result, the ADMIN_PASS was being set to "password\r"

You're not really supposed to grab form data and write it to a file anyway. And it's somewhat trivial to strip each line and give it the line-ending you want when you do write it to the file. ;)
