I have good internet now.

But seriously, it is unplayable for Americans (North, South, Central).

But we really do have the option to not play in there.

I like the idea, I just wish the server was located in Bermuda.

Everyone's bikes stop moving and are frozen for a second on the walls. My walls then start to curve and then suddenly boom!

There are slides, there are freezes and instant deaths.

Not sure if you have ever experienced that but ya, it isn't possible to play.
When were you gonna mention your horrible internet...?

**** the lag complainers, server was laggy for me too but it was still fun once you figure out how to survive. Tron will always have lag, and unfortunately always people who whine about it.
I wish we could all be the shining beacon of goodness and perfection that you are :(

After months of lagging and sliding you know when you are going to lag, and you are able to handle most of it. (Not talking about the enormous farmville lags :P)

It does depend on the extent and type of lag... there are a few different types you know ;)

This lag is:

Every bike on the server freezes like you dced, the server then "regains connection" and you randomly died somewhere.

It isn't the slide kind of lag.

Exactly what I get at least once a round, the 'lag out' lasts for 2-3 seconds here

Do servers actually know the distance to the user when it sends the data? How come this server just "happens" to be laggy for people with US/bad pings?

Surely if the server sucked, everyone would experience these time outs with the same frequency. I've never slid there, so I deduce it's your own connection, or at least some part of the connection for which the server is not responsible. What you'rer describing sounds like typical packet loss.

Typically having higher ping means you are farther from the server. Usually being farther from the server means more lag. Simple? I thought you were smarter than that dariv.

People never take it well when I explain this to them.

Lag is a delay. What you're describing is a freeze, or a CHANGE in the delay. It's a higher order effect. If there is no interference you will have lag but you will not have slides or freezes. I thought everyone understood this.

Ping is affected more by the number of 'jumps' rather than physical distance.
