Rant: ripping

Ive been on the .dbd|High Rubber server the past few days. Guess what I saw half the people doing. Ripping the wall.

I find this behavior extremely annoying. The point of the High Rubber games is to kill, or "core dump," other players. It is NOT to break the wall or die trying.

Don't get me wrong, though. Digging itself is fine. I use it all the time. Its when you dig for the sole purpose of breaking through the wall that I get mad/annoyed.

If there is anyone else out there that shares this belief, please speak up.

I'd be pretty impressed if someone could do that on nexus 9, or even fort/sumo for that matter.

Well, unless BUG_WALL_RIP 1 is set, you will NOT succeed at ripping the walls.

And if it's set, I'd read it as an active encouragement by the server admin to rip the walls, so if you don't like that, play elsewhere.

Deeply grinding it. Mostly done to the rim. In 0.2.6 and 0.2.7.0, that would do two things: kill off a segment of the wall and deform it. You could then leave the arena and.... do nothing much outside.

Nice. Zurd and I played with it one night, and found settings that make ripping the wall rather easy! We have been talking about putting up a server with those settings and a map that makes it fun.

I really do not mind if someone rips out of a wall. If they leave the box, they usually get bored and run into there own wall lol.
