Bot Pinger on classic 1

Post by matjash »

I've been playing On Classic server 1, and there isd this guy Psyko which enter's and leaves the server from 7PM till morning - he comes to server turn's on the chatbot and start's downloading! On saturday he's ping jumped from 350 - 3522!!!

Plz help for the sake of the game - put atleast 1 admin up there!

Grannddd... But I must ask, did his ping effect gameplay for all others? Did his presence really mess things up for others?

Usually, there is a very long delay between rounds ( Fixed in 0.2.7.1, shameless plug ). Gameplay itself should be relatively unaffected unless there's a bug in the ping charity code.

this guy is a real jerk, seen him in servers over the last 2 weeks or so and his ping is always jumping from 350 - 1500 - 2700 or more

yes his high ping does effect others we are seeing random jumping of bikes and also some bikes explode when in open space away from walls ???

It does effect gameplay as iceman said - and is lagging a server SO much, the worste is that he even doesn't play - just turn's on chatbot.

Ppl have no real fun killing a (lagging)bot the whole night - so I think it does effect gameplay.

I ran into this guy too (literally). Did seem to have high ping relative to the 'real' players. And whether the ping was bad or not, watching a bot cross the grid round after round gets really old.

Just wondering: it would probably be fairly straightforward to have the server auto-kick anybody who doesn't get out of bot mode after 'n' minutes. Can anybody offer an argument why this would be a bad idea?
