Hi

>it keeps saying that the server admin licks me off for a very good reason. thats !&@#$^*!

Yes, a very good reason, i kick for extensive camping or lagging. Exactly my job there.

>It apperas that iceman had the same thing happen

I never kicked iceman and he knows that. I only kick annoying and disturbing idiots out of the game. That's what i'm payed for :)

You are invited to play on Classic, but behave, dont camp and watch your ping. If you feel you must download lots of porn while playing - you're kicked out. Period. No exception from the rules. Thats what any other admin would do with me.

Norm

I dont use the double Bind for camping. I use it to gain speed using the least amount of turn thanks to wall grinding.

as for the lag, would me going through a windows 2000 small buisness server have anything to do with it? cause if it does I dont have any control over what my mom sets up.

I'm sure if you ask Your_mom real nicely, he'll give you a more direct connection to the internet so you can play your games. 8)

No, I don't think it would. I play through a 2003 server w/out any lag problems. I guess it really depends on server load, but if everything is set up correctly shouldn't be an issue.

How does software routing compare to hardware routing? I would expect a hardware router to be faster. Has anybody done a traceroute through their own software router?

I've never really experienced anything other than software routing for quite a while, and I've never had issues w/it.

hardware routing is generally still software routing, just in a nice hermetically sealed box you cant fiddle with. Its rather hard to make a hardware solution to handle the mass of variety the internet holds.

of course I realise that (but I'm now motivated to build one out of ttl logic! :))

But a computer is doing a lot of things at the same time. I would expect it to be slower. This is why I was wondering if it's ever been tested. I'm wondering if what I suspect is true or not.
